Reports say that there was an attempt to kill former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad in Moscow.
Ten months ago, Russia gave political asylum to the former dictator after he was deposed.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a well-known group that fights for human rights, stated that Assad was released from the hospital on the outskirts of Moscow on Monday. They said they got this information from a “private source.”
The insider added that Assad “had been poisoned” and that the goal of the killing was “to embarrass the Russian government and accuse it of being involved” in his death.
The story said that Assad’s health was now “stable.”
During a big security operation, it was stated that only his brother Maher Assad could visit him in the hospital.
So yet, the Russian government has not stated anything about the charges.
Earlier, unproven accusations suggested that he was poisoned and rushed to the hospital in “critical condition.”
