The mall was calm and usual that afternoon. The usual crowd was coming and departing, but commerce was slow. I was thinking of closing early to escape the traffic on the way home. That’s when it took place.
A gorgeous woman walked right up to me, her eyes shining and her stride full of confidence. She looked me in the eye and said, “Please, I’m just looking for a one-night stand.”
I’m a gentleman, but I’m not made of stone. Before you could say “Billybob,” the store was closed, the lights were off, and the door was locked.
I took her away because I thought I would have the best night of my life. First, we headed to a cozy, warm bar nearby for some great cocktails. After that, we went to a nice restaurant for dinner that had cloth napkins, candlelight, and all the other things. After that, we went to a club I know that had a great floor show and live jazz music, which made the atmosphere even better.
For hours, we spoke, laughed, and danced. She was smart, charming, and full of surprises. I ended up bringing her home with me. And because I’m a polite person, I won’t say what happened next. You should let your mind wander on some things.

When the sun came up and shone through the blinds the next morning, I smiled at her and thought about how proud I was of the night I had planned. I leaned forward and said softly, “How was that?”
She blinked a few times, yawned, and added, “It was great.” But I still don’t know where to put my light.
I stopped smiling. I asked, “Your lamp?”
She agreed. “Yes, I wanted to sleep with you for one night.” Do you know what a bedside table is? For my light? She moved her head to look around the room. “That’s why I went to your store to buy furniture.”
And that’s how I got the wrong idea about a customer, buddies. and gave her the best lunch and show she never asked for.
