During the Super Bowl, Serena Williams was doing her best.
Serena Williams danced to Kendrick Lamar’s song during her brief appearance at the Super Bowl halftime show.
After losing both arms and legs in a car accident, Henry “Crip” Heard, a Harlem dancer, popularized the “Crip walk,” which the tennis great performed.
When Williams won Olympic gold at Wimbledon in 2012, she performed the dance, which at the time sparked a lot of criticism. The Crips, a group of street gangs in California, adopted the dance.
Regretfully, she received some negative feedback after performing it again at the Super Bowl. Some people were upset because she was dancing to the Drake song “Not Like Us.”
Drake’s song “Too Good” was about “me and Serena,” and the two are rumored to have dated from 2011 until 2015. Drake has also made multiple references to Serena Williams in his music.
“Man, I would have been fined if I had crip walked like that at Wimbledon,” she joked after her Super Bowl dance.
By posting screenshots of some of the previous comments made about Serena, her husband Alexis Ohanian was prepared to counter any criticism directed at her this time.

“Some of you have no idea how criticized Serena was for this same dance at Wimbledon 13 years ago, and it shows,” he commented. This transcends the music.
Williams dancing at Wimbledon was ‘equivalent to delivering a nasty, X-rated joke inside a church,’ according to a sports pundit who claimed in 2012 that Williams ‘deserved to be condemned’. Ohanian provided images of the analyst.
During Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance, he also shared a video of Samuel L. Jackson in the role of Uncle Sam yelling, “Oh no, no!” It’s too noisy! Too rash! Too ghetto.

Then, Ohanian shared another halftime show clip with the remark, “meanwhile, let ’em dance.”
People’s nonsense about his wife’s performance at the Super Bowl and her dancing on stage seems to be bothering him.
‘Kendrick getting Serena Williams to crip walk while singing ‘Not Like Us’ is nasty work,’ some spectators commented, while others called it ‘a wild flex by Kendrick’ to have the tennis player dance on stage while he sang about Drake.
Kendrick had the Super Bowl crowd sing his most contentious line against Drake for him during his performance.
The accusations against Drake have been refuted by him.
