According to Rod Stewart, the iconic rock star who is best known for songs like “Forever Young” and “Maggie May,” his next tour, One Last Time, will be his last extensive global tour.
The 79-year-old legend informed his admirers of this heartfelt choice on Instagram on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

He wrote, “This marks the end of my big world tours.” Don’t worry, though; I’m not going to retire. I continue to enjoy my work. Playing in more intimate, smaller venues is just what’s needed.
The rock artist said that even though his health is excellent and his signature hair is still in place, he believes it’s time to retire from the rigorous, international lifestyle of performing at enormous venues.
The rock star posted on Instagram, “At the jolly old age of 79, I can run 100 meters in 18 seconds, I’m fit, and I have a full head of hair.”
To many who have followed Stewart’s journey over the years, the news feels like the end of an era. His One Last Time tour will be the last in a series of legendary shows in massive arenas where his distinctive voice and rock star magnetism have been electrifying audiences for years.
He is open to a change.
Rock, soul, R&B, and other genres have all been represented by Stewart, who is well-known for his extraordinary flexibility. From his more recent Swing Fever CD to the anthems of the 1970s like “Do You Think I’m Sexy?” he has been a musical powerhouse that has never stopped changing.
Stewart is obviously ready for a change, even though he maintains that this isn’t the end of his musical career.
“The year after next, I’d like to go on a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour — more intimate and smaller venues,” he wrote.
In addition, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer left a little room for interpretation by joking, “But then again, I may not…” and concluding with, “The Ambiguous Sir Rod Stewart.”
Twenty extra gigs will be added to Rod Stewart’s One Last Time tour, which will travel around the United States and Canada. The tour will begin in Austin, Texas, in March and end in St. Louis in August. Even while he is prepared to slow down, fans may still anticipate one last opportunity to see his iconic performances up close.
