Father and 6-Year-Old Girl Found Dead After She Doesn’t Show Up for School

The bodies of Hope Gordon, a small schoolgirl from West Calder, Scotland, who was six years old, and her father, Mark Gordon, who was 36 years old, were discovered inside their family home.

After the girl did not show up to school on Monday, January 20, the police went to check on her and see how she was doing.

In a statement, Chief Superintendent Gregg Banks stated that on Monday, January 20, “Police Scotland responded to what we classify as a ‘concern for’ call.” “That call was in response to a concern expressed by a member of the family regarding their child’s poor attendance at school.”

Foster care was shared between Gordon and Hope’s mother. Nevertheless, the officials claim that the girl had been staying with her father for a considerable amount of time.

According to the officials, there was no evidence during that time period to show that a third party was involved.

As a result of a post-mortem examination, Police Scotland has stated that the tragic event is being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, as reported by The Sun.

Grant Hendry, a detective superintendent with the Major Investigation Team, made the following statement: “Our thoughts continue to be with Hope’s family and friends, as well as everyone else who has been impacted by this tragedy.”

During this exceedingly trying period, we are providing the families with support with the aid of specialized officers. It is understandable that the families are in a state of complete and utter devastation.

The members of our law enforcement team are continuing their investigations in order to provide answers for the families, and at this point, we do not have any information that would indicate that anyone else is involved.

A request for assistance from the general public was made by DCI Williamson in the ongoing investigation.

I would want to request that anyone who happens to have any information, regardless of how trivial or inconsequential they may believe it to be, get in touch with the authorities.

The shock that has been felt throughout the community is understandable, according to Chief Superintendent Gregg Banks. Due to the fact that the tragedy is an isolated incidence, there is no larger risk for the general public during this time.

We are making every effort to solve the mystery of what took place on the property and to provide answers to the issues that have been raised by the grieving members of the family.

The Toronto Primary School in Livingston was where Hope was enrolled as a student.

Hope was described as “a bright, bubbly, and affectionate girl” by Fiona Linfoot, who happened to be the head teacher.

Hope was a member of the Toronto Primary family who was held in many people’s hearts. All of her friends and the faculty and staff at the school will miss her tremendously.

We are going to miss her kind and welcoming heart and contagious grin a great deal.

To the family who is grieving, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
