Elon Musk Reacts to Mike Myers’ SNL Roast of Trump Tariffs and Tesla

With the most recent impersonation, the millionaire wasn’t really pleased.

This week, the richest man in the world responds to Mike Myers’ “brutal” imitation of him. Another weekend with another Trump-related SNL sketch and, of course, another Elon Musk answer.

In May 2021, Elon Musk happily hosted Saturday Night Live. However, less than a year later, he criticized the show, saying in an April post on X that it’s “so rarely funny these days.” Elon Musk’s relationship with SNL has been somewhat contentious.

SNL icon Mike Myers has taken up the role of portraying the billionaire, although Musk has become a regular ‘target’ of the show’s skits since he became a pivotal figure in the Trump administration as director of the Department of Government Efficiency.

He has expressed his displeasure with this new impersonation by emailing his millions of followers several brief replies, and it appears that the most recent sketch with Myers has agitated him once more.

In the aforementioned farce, Myers played Musk, who was introducing a new Tesla car called the “Model V.” A world-first self-vandalizing mechanism in this new model enables the car to slit its own tires, smash its own headlights, and use artificial intelligence to spray graffiti on its sides, all in response to the recent mass vandalism of the electric car company’s vehicles.

Myers adds that although he is “really smart,” President Trump’s recent mass tariffs “sound really dumb,” but Trump interrupts him.

Musk reacted to a snippet of the comedy on X by saying:

“SNL hasn’t been humorous in a while. They mock themselves.

Musk has previously expressed a similar feeling, but this is also from the man who was disappointed that his “woke James Bond” sketch was turned down because it had “become reality.”

In support of Musk’s strategy, one commenter said that the skit was “not funny by any stretch of the imagination,” calling it “just plain mean and fueled by hatred.”

Others disagree, pointing out that Musk doesn’t appear to be able to handle a joke. One user commented, “Boo hoo crybaby,” and sent a series of laughing emojis along with the question, “did Mike Myers hurt your feelings?”

An image of a teary-eyed cat was shared by someone else, who said, “Stop laughing guys, it’s not funny.”

One user commented, “Didn’t you host a few years ago?” in a post that was quoted. “You just don’t like that they made fun of you.”

Despite the fact that Elon Musk’s tenure in government may be coming to an end quickly due to the revelation that he is leaving his position as head of DOGE, Myers’ impersonation of him on Saturday Night Live is probably not going to be the last time that Musk feels compelled to respond online.
