Kindness is often concealed in this world, yet certain people go above and beyond to change things. Today, we have gathered inspiring tales of genuine bravery, generosity, and selflessness.
Story 1: I was 18 years old, had recently relocated to New York City alone, and was attempting to fit in after moving from a tiny Southern town. I had no idea how to purchase a MetroCard, and it was my first time riding the train.
A line of people is waiting behind me as I stand at the lone machine that is operational, attempting to purchase a card. Knowing that folks were waiting made me a little worried. People in the line began shouting at me, saying things like, “What, are you stupid?” and “Hurry up!” I became more and more agitated as I began to cry.
Subsequently, this man left the queue and instructed everyone to relax. He arrived, bought for a 12-ride card for me, and walked me through the process step-by-step. In addition to giving me a slap on the back, he advised me to yell back at anyone who yells at me because they will leave me alone. I didn’t feel as alone at that time.
If it weren’t for his generosity and advice, I doubt I would have stayed up there and experienced all of the wonderful things I did. Copyright Wiffle_Snuff/Reddit
Tale No. 2:

My cousins and I visited a bookstore when I was around twelve years old. We stepped outside and began reading the books we had purchased. After a ten-minute or so period of this elderly man peering down at us, he got up from the bench and entered the bookstore.
Five minutes or so later, he emerged with three gift cards. After grinning as he approached us, he gave each of us a $20 gift card and remarked, “I love seeing kids read.” I had never felt such astonishment and emotion. Reddit / GabeTheNerd ©

Story 4: A few years ago, while driving home from work, I ran out of gas. I was able to move my vehicle to the median, so I wasn’t completely obstructing traffic. With no money and no one to call, I was at a loss. Three individuals stopped to assist me.
The first guy inquired about my health, whether I had any money for gas, and other things. I informed him that I had no money because I had no way to travel to a gas station and that my car was out of gas. I also showed him my check, which I had not yet cashed. Car number two arrived after he left.
Car two: We had a brief conversation, and she informed me that she was unable to assist me, which is fine.
An undercover officer was the third person to be stopped. Since he didn’t want to abandon me, this really kind person helped me push my car in the direction of the grass and came up with solutions.
While I was conversing with the police officer, the first automobile arrived, got out, and gave me a full 10-gallon can of gas. I thanked the man heartily and even offered to acquire his number in order to repay him. He declined, simply stating that there was no real issue.
This man spent his money on petrol for me even though I didn’t ask him to, and I appreciate that he did. Unfortunately, I will never be able to repay him. Reddit/SkatinKate ©

Tale No. 6:

In the midst of Christmas, I worked in a mall toy store. A teenage girl walked in sporting a T-shirt bearing my favorite video game’s emblem. I never saw that video game on a women’s shirt, only men’s, so I complimented her garment and asked her where she bought it. She went after telling me where she acquired it.
I walked into the break room to ask my boyfriend to get it for me for Christmas, and she was waiting for me when I came out. She said, “Happy Christmas!” and gave me a bag. I hope the size is correct,” I said, and walked away. It was the most adorable thing ever; she had gone out and gotten me the shirt. Reddit’s Smile_for_the_Camera feature

Story 8: I was with a very charming man on a date. The waitress turned to face him and stated, “Sir, your card was declined,” as the bill arrived. He went white. I paid with a smile.
“I lied,” the waitress said as she took my arm as we were leaving. She then placed the receipt in my grasp. When I flipped it over, I saw two words written in a panicked handwriting: “Google him.” I looked up his name as soon as I came home, and my blood froze. He was deceitful.

He seemed to follow a pattern: he would start dating women, earn their trust, and then begin to steal from them. Stealing had landed him in jail several times, mostly from his prior employment. Even the way he had contacted me was strikingly similar to the blog entries one of his ex-girlfriends had written about their relationship, including how they first met.
I am incredibly thankful to that waitress. I was spared a horrible situation by her bravery, generosity, and fast thinking. I understood she had fabricated the situation with the refused card as a pretext to send me that message.
She served more than just food that evening. She served as a warning.

Story 10: It rained a lot on my route home from school when I was a freshman. I chose to go through it without my umbrella.
This elderly woman approached me and gave me her umbrella; she was most likely in her 60s. Along the way, she gave me some life lessons as we walked until I arrived home. It took around ten minutes to walk. I’d like to thank her again when I see her. © Unknown Reddit author
