At the wedding location, there was a lot of polite conversation.
Golden sunlight streamed in through the large windows, creating a comfortable appearance for the rows of shining chairs occupied by guests dressed to the nines.
While some raised their phones to capture the moment, others muttered excitedly.
Everyone in the room seemed to be holding their breath, and the atmosphere was a mixture of nervousness and joy.
The bride, Sara, stood by the groom, Gabriele, her fingers clenched around his.
She looked stunning in a long veil that draped elegantly behind her and a sleek mermaid gown that hugged her form perfectly.
She had a bright grin, yet there was worry in her eyes.
“Are you okay?” Gabriele murmured as she stepped closer.

She gave a small nod, but before she could speak—
—a change occurred.
Not beside her. Not behind her. directly beneath her.
There was a little, hardly perceptible twitch in her gown. Something or someone appeared to be concealed behind the tulle.
Sara was taken aback and backed up a little. Concerned, Gabriele observed the sudden tightness and inquired,
“What’s going on?” What’s happening?
She was unable to speak, though. The movement gained momentum.
Her dress’s hem trembled slightly, as though it were having trouble coming to life.
The guests ceased to move.
One of the bridesmaids, Adele, covered her mouth with her palm as she gasped. An elderly aunt prayed and crossed herself.
The emotion completely changed; joy gave way to fear.
Gabriele’s face went completely white.
Sara’s eyes were wide and her heart was pounding as she stood motionless.
Then…
A soft noise.
A slight, clear sound emanated from beneath the cloak.
“Is this a joke?” One of the witnesses, Tomás, looked around nervously and mumbled.
However, nobody chuckled.
Rather, the entire room seemed to be holding their breath.
Then—
The dress’s lower part shifted a lot.
With a scream, Sara jumped back and instinctively lifted the hem of her garment.
They all gasped simultaneously.
When Gabriele became anxious, the registrar halted, stamp in hand.
From behind the flowing robe came a hiss and a flash of black.
A rapidly moving blur rushed forward.
A scream was heard. A champagne glass shattered on the floor and poured upon a spotless tablecloth.
Sara desperately clung to Gabriele’s arm.
“What in the world is that?”
Now clearly visible, the black body leaped clumsily across the slick floor, coming to a halt in the center of the room.
It blinked, glanced about, and…
…meowed.
The sound paused.
Gabriele took a look. Sara blinked, startled.
Midway down the aisle…
A small black cat was seated.
Without thinking, someone asked, “Wait, is that a cat?”
Gabriele gave his bride a startled look. “Why was there a cat under your dress?”
Sara opened her mouth, but she was unable to speak.
A tiny voice then emerged from the front row.
“Um… maybe he’s mine…”
Everyone pivoted.
Sara’s little sister, Lucia, stood there looking extremely guilty while holding her plush bunny.
“I didn’t want to leave him home alone,” she said. “He jumped into the veil box.” I thought he left before us.
For a while, the audience searched.
The tension was then broken by laughter that swept through the room like a tsunami.
Gabriele exhaled heavily. Still trembling slightly, Sara leaned forward and scooped up the kitten.
It coiled up in her palms as if it had always been there, purring contentedly.
She caressed the kitten’s head and laughed. “Well, well,” she muttered. “Looks like we have a surprise witness.”
The registrar, Judith, grinned warmly. “Do you have any other problems with this union?”
The room was filled with laughing once more.
After exchanging glances, Gabriele and Sara burst out laughing.
Until the cacophony subsided, Sara continued to hug the kitten, which was now nestled into the folds of her clothing.
After giving the kitten a head rub, Gabriele remarked, “If this is how we start, our marriage is going to be very interesting.”
“I think it’s off to a purr-fect start,” Sara stated with a smile.
The guests approached, and Lucia, holding her rabbit in her arms, tiptoed closer.
To Sara, she said, “I’m so sorry.” “I didn’t mean to screw anything up.”
Sara, still clutching the kitten, knelt beside her. “Don’t worry, Lucia. However, please let me know if you plan to put someone in my veil the next time.
“Okay…” With a nod of understanding, Lucia remarked, “Bogi was just scared to be alone.”
“Bogi?” Gabriele inquired curiously.
According to Lucia, “That’s his name.” “He’s been with me for two weeks.” He was by the school gate when I saw him.
Sara’s eyebrow went up. “And you didn’t tell anyone?”
“Mom said we couldn’t keep him.” Lucia stated. I therefore fed him covertly. He hid beneath the basket of veils this morning.
Judith cleared her throat and smiled. “Can I keep going with the ceremony, or are there any more guests hiding under dresses?”
The audience chuckled once more.
After giving Lucia the cat, Sara returned to Gabriele.
Before taking his hand, she asked, “Do you still want to do this?”
He laughed. “I can get through anything if I can get through a cat attack at my wedding.”
The ceremony continued. The promises were clear and sincere. The audience erupted when the “I do’s” were announced.
Lucia held her kitten and waved her toy bunny joyfully.
“No need for animal control to sign, right?” Judith laughed as she handed them the wedding registration to sign.
With placid hands, Sara and Gabriele signed their names with smiles.
Following the wedding, attendees gathered in the courtyard for refreshments and desserts. The kitten’s story quickly went viral.
The special edit, “Top 10 Wedding Fails or Wins?” was already in the videographer’s mind.
Sara was seen by the dessert table by Adele, the maid of honor. “Really? The day was made more special by that cat. I will never forget this wedding.
With a glance at Gabriele, Sara remarked, “And it’s only the beginning.” “Who knows what’s next?”
Couples danced under fairy lights later that evening while background music played. Gabriele’s jacket was pulled on by Lucia.
“Can we keep Bogi, Uncle Gabriele?
He dropped to his knees and met her gaze. “Only if I can visit.”
Lucia’s eyes grew brighter. “Deal!” She wrapped him in her arms.
In this way, a small black kitten who paid a visit became a cherished family member.
The wedding was discussed for years. Every year, someone would joyfully and astonishingly retell the story.
How about the album of the wedding? In place of a kiss or first dance, the cover featured an image of Sara clutching Bogi, her eyes glistening, and the words “
“Behind every wedding you won’t forget is a little furry surprise.”
