Michael Brudenell-Bruce, Marquess of Ailesbury, was discovered dead on the patio of his long-term partner, Teresa Marshall de Paoli.
He allegedly died after falling off a balcony while letting his cat, Honeybun, out of a first-floor window.
His 37-year-old partner found him in a pool of blood on the concrete paving stones.
Marshall de Paoli told the Sun, “It was a freak accident.” He was bloodied. I asked him, ‘Oh, my darling, what has happened?’ but he had died.
She went on to say that police suspected she murdered him, but that “there had not been a row – I hadn’t hit him”.
“I think the cat got her head stuck and he pushed [the window] up and lost his balance, and he fell onto the patio,” she informed me. “He fell, breaking the roses on the wall as he fell.”
“He could have been lying there for an hour or an hour and a half.” He was really pale and cold.
“I fetched a cushion and placed it under his head. I called 999 and reported my partner’s accident.
“The ambulance and police arrived within seven minutes, and a police officer and a woman both confirmed his death.
“A police officer stated that death occurred instantly. The cops handled it as a crime.”
Marshall de Paoli was later allowed to see her late husband and spray his body with his favorite cologne.
Michael Brudenell-Bruce was an Eton graduate, Royal Horse Guards captain, and stockbroker. His family and friends are mourning his unexpected and untimely death. He was related to Prince Harry’s ex, model and actress Florence Brudenell-Bruce.
