Pope Leo XIV’s Pre-Election Views on U.S. Immigration and JD Vance Resurface

JD Vance may’ve ‘blessed’ Pope Francis’ successor, but is the sentiment mutual?

JD Vance might have declared his support of Pope Leo XIV to replace Pope Francis but certainly, it doesn’t mean the feeling is mutual.

Pointing out Cardinal Robert Prevost who would be wearing the miter and who would lead the Church after Pope Francis had passed away last month was revealed on the 8th of May.

The 69-year-old, whose papal name is Pope Leo XIV, is the first American to be elected to the position.

And still the patriot the news was received with open arms by US president Donald Trump as well as vice president JD Vance – even if the POTUS did initially pull a joke on dreaming of being the next DRAFTMASTER himself.

Yet, is the respect and praise one-way? Well, when it comes to JD Vance, Leo absolutely hasn’t been holding back up to this point.

The newly elected pope allegedly lashed out at Vance on Twitter when he reshared an op-ed from the National Catholic reporter entitled: “JD Vance is wrong: Jesus doesn’t ask us to rank our love for others”.

The article followed remarks Vance made to Fox News in February, where he said: There is a Christian idea that you love your family and then you love your neighbor, and then you love your community, and then you love your fellow citizens, and then after that, set the rest of the world.”

A lot of the far left has entirely turned that upside down.

Though Pope Leo is said to have commented about Vance, the vice president posted his endorsement of the first American pope on Twitter on the day of the official announcement.

Vance tweeted: “Congrats to Leo XIV, the founding American Pope, on his victory! I’m certain that millions of American Catholics and other Christians will pray for his successful work leading the Church. May God bless him!”

Then Trump follows suit and uses Truth Social to leave his stamp of approval as well writing: “Congrats to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who just became Pope. It is such a privilege to know that he was the first American Pope.

What excitement and what great honor for our country.

I await meeting Pope Leo XIV. It will be very meaningful moment!”

Promulgated notwithstanding the numerous posts – and messengers – Leo has disseminated that denigrate his policies, Trump’s words were also pronounced.
