Isabel Coles of Southern Pines, North Carolina, described her feelings of devastation after her husband killed himself the day after their honeymoon at a beach-front music festival in New Jersey.
They held their wedding in September last year, which was a year and a half after they met on the app.
After they came back from their honeymoon, Christopher was using their big ceremony’s guest list template to add people, since he was away for training.

Nevertheless, once morning came, he slipped out of the house and headed to the woods. No matter how much Isabel tried to persuade him, he continued without listening to her. A little later, she found out he had taken his gun with him.
She let her parents know right away, and they came from Georgia to help find him.
Unfortunately, his father found his motionless body the morning after, on September 18.

Isabel wondered if there were clues she did not see, since she noted that Christopher was always full of motivation.
I was taken aback and completely saddened. She said, “He made our honeymoon special; we had lots of fun.”
He pushed himself really hard and was always critical of his own progress. I never saw anything coming, so it really surprised me.
After he died, Isabel received a lot of messages telling her they thought we were so happy and wished they had what we shared.

Even after her husband had passed away, Isabel occasionally got flowers that seemed to originated with him. She thought, “What if there would be no flowers,” but later understood Christopher planned ahead since he would be serving at the time.
Isabel was attacked online by people who felt she was responsible for her husband’s decision.

Certain people have told me that I played a part in it. I know we were really happy, my husband and I. That experience is something I will always keep with me.
I find some things to be my fault, but I never thought we were unhappy or that I did anything. At the time, it was unclear to me that he had been being tormented by something. I’m not doing well; There’s something inside me that I will not get back.”
She said she understood that he wasn’t being malicious toward her.
She believed that he must have thought there would be less pain for people if he were not around.
