Recently, Republican Representative Brandon Gill of Texas sponsored a bill that would replace Benjamin Franklin on the $100 bill with President Donald Trump.
In response to Trump’s long-standing claim that his administration will contribute to the onset of the next “Golden Age of America,” Gill’s proposal is named the Golden Age Act of 2025.
If this law is approved, Trump’s face will appear on all $100 bills.
Representative Troy Nehls, a Republican from Texas, is also a co-sponsor of the bill.
In a statement, Gill—a first-time representative—explained his motivations for wanting this law to pass.
“President Trump has done more than anyone else to usher America into the golden age,” Gill stated.
In celebration of everything he will achieve over the next four years, he is featured on the $100 dollar.
Gill posted a picture of the official portrait of Trump from his second term on a $100 bill on X, the platform that was formerly known as Twitter.
His writing was, “Let’s make history.” His writing was, “Let’s make history.”

Should this law pass, the Treasury Secretary would have to make a design public by December 31, 2026.
Trump’s face would then have to appear on all $100 bills after December 31, 2028.
Naturally, there is very little possibility that this measure will pass, especially since there are already rules that prevent this from occurring.

It is currently illegal to feature living individuals on any type of U.S. currency.
Trump’s picture cannot, therefore, appear on any currency or banknotes.
This hasn’t appeared to deter Gill and Nehls, or other Republicans in Congress, though.
Gill also talked candidly about the reasons for his advocacy for Trump’s image to appear on the $100 bill.
“President Trump might be spending time with his family and playing golf in his golden years,” Gill said.
“Instead, he took a bullet for this country and is now working extra hard to secure our border, correct our unequal trade relations with the rest of the world, restore America’s energy independence, and prioritize America by cutting off pointless foreign aid.”
After all, Republican Representative Joe Wilson of South Carolina had just days prior to Gill’s statement announced that he was drafting a law that would require Trump to appear on a new $250 bill.
Wilson expressed his gratitude by writing, “I am drafting legislation to direct the Bureau of Graving and Printing to design a $250 bill featuring Donald J. Trump,” in a post on X.

In keeping with Gill’s own $100 post, he also included a mockup of this bill.
Wilson says he wants to recognize Trump for all he has done for the American economy by designing a $250 bill with his image on it.

Naturally, while expressing this admiration, the Republican used the opportunity to disparage former President Joe Biden.

1929 was the last time the United States altered the names on a bill.
In the past, the $20 bill featured former President Grover Cleveland.
Nevertheless, former President Andrew Jackson replaced him on the bill in 1929.
One of America’s founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin, has been depicted on the $100 bill since 1914, when the Federal Reserve first produced the currency.
American banknotes have featured a number of presidents thus far.
For instance, the $1, $2, and $5 bills all feature George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln, respectively.
The $50 notes features Ulysses S. Grant, whereas the $20 bill features Jackson after 1929.
There has always been discussion about modifying the U.S. currency and banknotes, but this discussion is frequently met with harsh criticism.
Given that so many Americans consider their currency to be a cherished American custom, many are not searching for their coins and bills to convert.

Although some may find this plan, which would place Trump on Mount Rushmore, absurd, it is not the first time that Congress has attempted to add a new president to the national landmark.
The addition of President Ronald Reagan to Mount Rushmore was actually contemplated by Congress back in 1999. Nevertheless, this notion was ultimately dismissed.
Republicans Unite in Support of Featuring Trump on the $100 Bill
Some leftists have criticized the president’s inclusion on the $100 bill, but conservatives have praised the concept.
Even some members of the Republican-controlled Congress have expressed their desire to see this bill passed.

On X, Colorado Republican Representative Lauren Boebert was perhaps the most prominent to officially endorse the proposal.

Naturally, the likelihood of this measure being passed is extremely low.
Many conservatives and even independents are not happy about the notion, even though many liberals despise it. This is especially true given that many people still want to see Benjamin Franklin on their $100 bills.
These Americans are tradition-driven, and even some Trump supporters oppose changing this enduring American law.
Approval of Trump’s Third Term Run
Following Trump’s unexpected victory over former Vice President Kamala Harris to win a second term in the White House, numerous Republicans in Congress have started introducing legislation to further solidify Trump’s legacy.
For instance, there has been legislation to include Trump on Mount Rushmore and several other measures.
These legislation, however, have swiftly gained a great deal of controversy, particularly as opponents have noted that they believe Congress should be focusing on more pressing issues in the nation.
These laws, of course, are not nearly as contentious as the one that was created to give Trump the opportunity to run for a third term.
With the introduction of this idea in January, Trump would be eligible to run for a third term in the White House.
Any president, but only those who did not serve two consecutive terms, would be eligible for this opportunity under the law.
Parents never gave up, even though the related hospital refused to remove their baby daughter’s facial birthmark.
Thus, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, the former presidents, would not be eligible to run again.
Since former President Joe Biden was only in office for one term, he would potentially have three more chances to be in the White House.
It’s obvious that this proposal was entirely tailored to Trump’s preferences.
Only Trump and prior President Grover Cleveland have held the office for nonconsecutive terms.
The unveiling of this measure immediately sparked a great deal of online criticism from both liberals and constitutionalists.
Considering that the measure would require the approval of two-thirds of both the House and the Senate, it seems unlikely that this plan will ever be passed.
Furthermore, the plan would not become part of the U.S. Constitution until at least 38 states ratified it.
Other Fascinating Trump Bills
Other fairly intriguing bills pertaining to Trump are currently being pushed by some Republican members of Congress.
A bill that would declare June 14, Trump’s birthday, a government holiday was proposed earlier this year by Republican Representative Claudia Tenney of New York.
Tenney claims that this distinction would “acknowledge him as the founder of America’s Golden Age.”
This concept has, of course, also caused problems for a lot of people.
It has been labeled crazy by liberals.
In the meantime, California Republican Representative Darrell Issa has announced that he will nominate the president for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Issa did not state clearly why he chose to nominate Trump.
But this esteemed honor has long been a goal of the president’s.
Thus, it has been said that Trump will be pleased to learn of Issa’s proposal.
Bills that flatter Trump are obviously being pushed by a large number of Republican members of Congress.
Although liberals and independents have strongly criticized these actions, it doesn’t seem that any of these critics have persuaded these lawmakers to cease circulating these legislation.
