Miranda Lambert Refreshes a Fan Favorite with a Bold Lyric Change

Miranda Lambert Hangs Shakespeare Reference to Blake Shelton at ACMs and More

Back to Miranda Lambert’s massive shade of ex Blake Shelton at the upcoming ACM awards this week.

Among the classics she sang at a former ACM Awards was a medley including “Kerosene” and “Gunpowder and Lead,” but the big poppy surprise was when she changed the lyrics to “Little Red Wagon”. Boomingly singing, instead of “I live in Oklahoma,” she sang “I got the hell out of Oklahoma.”

The song had been a new lyric she had been singing for a while now, but that was the first time she was singing it with Blake in the same room. Blake is from Oklahoma. They naturally wanted knowing his reply. To everybody’s surprise, Blake’s face wasn’t as minor as it was passing.

Miranda however, has the freedom to alter the lyrics because she is no longer from Oklahoma. He hadn’t expected Blake in the audience to add a little fire to that performance, and we love her for it.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert’s Special Song “Over You”

Although their jokes, Miranda and Blake get along. But their song ‘Over You’ about Blake’s dead brother is special. “I’m happy we can do that together with that song and that helped his family heal,” Miranda said.

Miranda Lambert Slams Ashton Kutcher at 2012 ACMs

Another famous speech was Miranda Lambert’s talk of Ashton Kutcher’s embarrassed performance at the 2012 ACMs. Before naming them among the candidates of Female Vocalist, Kutcher smashed George Strait’s song I Cross My Heart dressed in cowboy clown. The concert was an unpleasant affair and many country fans who were not sorry to see him on that stage.

Ashton is a country fan (he is likely somewhat of a fan, but it was widely considered that his performance was a mockery of the genre). But Miranda didn’t make light of her discomfort when she later admitted that it was a ‘dumb moment in ACM history.’

Nevertheless, a month down the line, when Miranda introduced Ashton to the Kentucky Derby, she told him that Ashton “loved real country music,” which helped temper the hurt.
