High School Teacher Under Investigation Following Allegations

A high school instructor in DeSoto County, Mississippi, is being investigated for allegedly acting inappropriately with a kid.

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office reports that 31-year-old Natalia Wright, a special education teacher at Lewisburg High School in the 2024–2025 academic year, is charged with making inappropriate physical contact with a pupil who was less than 18.

Wright was both the student’s teacher and tutor at the time of the alleged assaults, according to the authorities.

Wright’s spouse allegedly obtained audio and video recordings in which Wright confessed to kissing the student multiple times while tutoring, according to details provided in a sworn affidavit.

According to other witnesses, on April 21, Wright and the student were spotted kissing and engaging in other intimate activities at several locations. These included Longview Point Baptist Church’s grounds and a Taco Bell parking lot.

On April 3rd, Wright resigned from Lewisburg High School. Inappropriate interaction with a student, including physical contact, direct communication, and repeatedly driving the youngster in her own car, is cited in school district documentation as the reason for the departure.

She has been charged with “fondling by a person in a position of trust,” a felony under Mississippi law, after being taken into custody on May 12.

As the legal proceedings advance, Wright is now free on a $200,000 bail and is expected to appear in court on June 6. The case is still being investigated by authorities.
