“A Dying Wish Fulfilled: Caregiver’s Unexpected Gesture Leaves All Speechless”

A dying woman’s final request. The caregiver then pulls something startling out of his pocket, surprising everyone.

All people get old and finally die.

I consider death to be a lovely and natural occurrence, so I don’t believe it’s particularly scary. However, I’m also terrified of getting older and not being able to care for myself.

to be completely dependant on someone else, unable to go to the bathroom on your own, and unable to remember your children’s names. That isn’t a lifestyle.

For her final days, Maria was living in a care facility. She also became aware of the shortness of her time left on the planet.

Having spent her entire life teaching piano and singing, Maria felt the absence of music in her surroundings.

Luckily for her, her assisted care home in Austinburg, Ohio, employed one of her former students.

They knew each other well, as she had been Joshua Woodard’s teacher since he was nine years old.

Maria’s last wish, before she died, was to hear the song “How great thou art.”

Naturally, Joshua was thrilled to fulfill Maria’s final request.

He took the lyrics to Maria’s all-time favorite song and used them to create a touching performance.

The fact that Joshua has known Mary since he was nine years old makes the situation even more endearing.

Joshua Woodard was a student of Mary’s when she was a young teacher of voice and piano. Hospice caregivers are unique individuals!

Maria’s sister-in-law was able to record the touching scene on camera:

Since Maria is sadly no longer with us, the entire video is much more poignant.

In order to honor the staff members who work so hard to care for our senior loved ones, please make sure you share this lovely video with all of your Facebook friends.
