Donald and Melania Trump’s Comment on Pope Francis Raises Eyebrows

The First Lady and the US President have come under fire for their social media post.

A post by President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump on Pope Francis’ funeral has drawn criticism.

At the age of 88, Pope Francis died on Easter Monday, April 21. “At 7:35 this morning, Francis, the bishop of Rome, returned to the Father’s residence,” said Vatican Cardinal Kevin Ferrell in a statement. Serving the Lord and his church was the focus of his entire life.

“He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with faithfulness, courage, and universal love, especially for the poorest and most marginalised.”

The church is starting the process of selecting a new Pope, and the burial is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, after the confirmation of his death. The nine days of mourning will now begin.

A global outpouring of tributes followed his death, which came after a cerebral stroke that left him in a coma and with permanent heart failure.

However, the US President and First Lady have one post that hasn’t received much positive feedback online.

Trump said that he and his wife, Melania, would be attending Pope Francis’s burial and that he was “looking forward” to it on his Truth Social platform.

Melania and I are scheduled to attend Pope Francis’s burial in Rome. It is our hope to be there. “I said,” Trump said.

The response left many rather taken aback, with one user writing: “Who looks forward to attending to a funeral? What a disgusting thing to say.

Another person added: “No one enjoys attending funerals. At funerals, people weep and share tales about the departed during solemn, melancholy events.

“Very strange to say you are ‘looking forward’ to attending a funeral,” a third person added. That is not said by anyone.

According to Donald Trump, he and Melania are excited to attend the Pope’s funeral. That is ruthless,” a fourth person wrote.

The White House has been contacted by Tyla for comment.

The dean of the College of Cardinals will perform mass this Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m. local time, according to the funeral plans for the late Bishop of Rome.

The Vatican has also made his final will and testament public, which includes his burial preferences.

With a voting procedure that is expected to last 15 to 20 days, known as a papal conclave, it is still unclear who will be named the new Bishop of Rome.

There have been some potential applicants for the position, but nothing will be formally disclosed until the conclave is over.
