Dave Edmunds, a rock star from the 1970s, is in serious condition in the hospital after having a bad heart attack.
The 81-year-old singer, who became famous for his 1970 Christmas single “I Hear You Knocking,” is now in critical care.
His condition is quite bad, and the heart attack hurt his brain.
His wife, Cici, posted the sad news on Facebook on Tuesday.
She talked of the terrible moment when her husband “died in my arms” and then doctors brought him back to life.
Cici stated it happened at their home in Rockfield, Monmouthshire. She said she did everything she could to keep him alive, even clearing his airways.
Then a nurse started doing CPR on Dave.
Cici said she kept going even after the nurse eventually declared he had died.
Then, in what Cici dubbed a “miracle,” physicians were able to bring Dave back to life.
He was put on a ventilator and transferred to the hospital, but his condition is still quite bad.
Cici went on to say that Dave’s memory loss and brain damage are clear.
There is a very good chance that he will have another heart attack.
Cici talked about how the event affected her and said, “I’m still in shock, and I think I have PTSD from what happened.”
She begged people to pray and think about Dave, who she called her “brilliant, talented, funny, and special” husband.
At the end of her touching speech, Cici thanked everyone for their help and stated, “Dave has a long way to go—if he makes it.”
