Cracker Barrel Fans Rejoice: A Classic Menu Item Returns After 7 Years

From coast to coast, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is warming hearts by bringing back Campfire Meals for summer. This classic was on leave for seven years, but it’s now available again just in time for the summer.

Cracker Barrel announced that Campfire Meals would be served once again at all restaurants starting May 6, letting guests experience the smoky perfection wrapped up in easy-to-use tin foil.

If you’re familiar with fast food or just trying it after hearing about it, these menus give you the taste of summer.

Every Campfire Meal is seared with Cracker Barrel’s Campfire Seasoning, encased in foil and patiently slow-cooked to give it a deep taste. Customers may order the Campfire Shrimp Skillet made with grilled shrimp, savory andouille sausage, sweet corn on the cob and seasoned red potatoes; the Campfire Chicken which is a half-juicy, marinated chicken with the same side vegetables; or the Campfire Beef which features beef and the same tasty vegetables served with both the chicken and shrimp meals.

It feels like summer with s’mores and Cracker Barrel has them in the S’mores Brownie Skillet: a warm brownie dessert with a toasted marshmallow and chocolate on top. To make it crunchy, add crumbled graham crackers and a scoop of vanilla ice cream ties it all up. You can also find Cinnamon Roll Skillets for two on the menu which include mini cinnamon rolls, cream cheese icing and are served hot right in the skillet.

By posting a teaser about the return of Campfire Meals on Instagram, Cracker Barrel excited people all over. Most people commented with excitement: “AHHH I feel so excited! 🥳🥳” and “I can’t wait to have some tasty meals by the fire!” One more fan said, “Grilling outside at night under the stars!! Finally, it has arrived!!

Yet, as soon as the news of baking snacks came out, loyal fans began asking for more old choices such as apple cobbler, sourdough rolls, squash casserole and also vegetarian options.

Campfire Meals returning seems to be a way for Cracker Barrel to honor what it stands for: familiarity, tradition and close-knit communities. Whenever you want to eat at the restaurant or order for takeout, this summer revival is attracting people back around the table with it. Don’t hesitate, because before long, these Campfire Meals may be gone.
