Notoriety is nothing new to singer Courtney Love. Over the course of her decades-long career, she has frequently made headlines.
The 60-year-old singer has now openly discussed her “big move,” including what it is and what motivated it.

After residing in London for the past five years, Courtney Love intends to make the move permanent. According to the former Hole singer, she will be eligible for British citizenship in six months. The musician also seemed to be content with the opportunity to move as political tensions in the US rise.
She discussed her new oral history, Slow Train Coming: Bob Dylan’s Girl from the North Country and Broadway’s Rebirth, with Todd Almond at London’s Geographical Society earlier this month. She also sang Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone” throughout the event.
She talked about her life in London while they were speaking. I am very happy to be here. This place is fantastic to live in. My British citizenship will ultimately be granted in six months. I get to have citizenship. Dude, I’m applying! Can’t get rid of me,” she reportedly uttered.
Although she did not state that the action was a direct result of President Donald Trump taking office, she has previously expressed her distaste for the politician. She had even described his politics as “frightening now” and likened them to “emperor-core.”
“This group in particular, and Trump in general, is like emperor-core. Similar to donning watches for millions of dollars. “At Mar-a-Lago, emperor-core is happening,” she remarked.
In October 2019, Courtney Love left Los Angeles to relocate to London. In an interview conducted in 2022, she discussed her favorite aspects of the city, “Rules. No weapons. Four seasons. Talk. You’re much more into middle-aged women. Use of discretion.
“I’m an Anglophile. As she stated in a 2024 interview, “I adore London, it’s my favorite city and the best place I’ve ever lived.” “I like the friends I’ve made here, I’m left alone, and there are laws here that protect me when I’m being public.”
The musician is among the several celebrities who are relocating outside of the United States.
