10+ Mind-Blowing Stories You Have to Read to Believe

There are instances when the reality is more terrifying than anything you might read in a cliffhanger. We may be shocked, perplexed, or even afraid by the unexpected turns that real life can take. You’ll read brief but gripping accounts from regular folks who experienced what seemed like scenes from a twisted thriller.

Story 1: We employed a calm 24-year-old girl as our nanny. My 7-year-old son became really attached to her very quickly and had fits when she wasn’t around.

I discovered a laminated picture of my son in her backpack yesterday. It seemed nice to me at first. I froze in fear as I turned it, though. Two words were penned by her: “MY son.” I chose to wait until her next appointment to find out what it meant because I was perplexed.

However, a mother called me in a panic that same evening. She declared, “This girl intends to seize control of your family.” She got fixated with my son after I hired her a year ago, and she eventually wooed my husband. Exercise caution. Get rid of her before it’s too late.

Everything in my universe collapsed. I followed the woman’s advice. The nanny sobbed and insisted that it was all false, but I couldn’t let her stay in my house for another minute.

Tale No. 2:

At 7am, my supervisor set up an obligatory video call. Cameras turned on and everyone logged in. He never showed up. HR ended it after we waited for twenty minutes.

He passed away in his sleep, according to an email we received later that day. The call was a calendar error, I assumed. But as I looked at the invitation once more…

That same morning, it was despatched at 9:12 a.m. through his work account. The subject line reads, “Please be on time.”

The IT department told me that it must be a bug or that his email was compromised when I questioned. Still, the thought of that shivers me.

Story 4: At eight in the morning, my office elevator on floor four would always stop. No one ever entered or left. opened, waited, and then closed. Daily.

Observing it from the hallway window, I began to ascend the stairs. I finally questioned security why it did that every time. Since the layout was changed last year, they claimed, nobody has had an office on 4.

I looked at the system logs. They were opening the door by hand. There was also a badging-in person. utilizing an employee ID that was declared inactive eleven months prior.

Tale No. 5:

My stepdad was my biological father until I was nine years old. After their divorce, I was feeling a lot of conflict. I wanted to live with my stepdad, but I was unable to do so, and my mother refused to explain why.

While sorting through my mother’s belongings one day, I came across an obituary for my father in the newspaper. He died in an automobile accident when he was 24 years old, and I was only 18 months old at the time. I’m still not sure why she lied to me about it, and I’m not even sure if I should ask. © Reddit / G0-Kart

Story 7: One day, while I was leaving a movie, my father beckoned me to our computer. “When was your school trip to Costa Rica?” he asked. They recently uploaded a group photo that features you.

I was not familiar with the trip he was referring to because I had not accompanied the community college I was attending. He was talking about a person who looked exactly like me, right down to the white Polo I was wearing a lot at the time. It was the most bizarre thing I’ve ever experienced. What a coincidence! Tale No. 8:

There are rumors that my mother had a fraternal twin. The idea of having two children was too much for my grandmother to bear, so she handed the boy to a friend who was moving away.

One evening, my grandma became furious and yelled at my mother, accusing her of keeping the wrong child. It has never been brought up before or since. At the time, my mother was about twelve. In response to her question, my great-grandmother said she knew the boy’s name but not where they had relocated or who he was living with.

Though she didn’t know who he was, my mom had met him earlier. My great-grandmother asked my mother what my middle name should be when she was expecting me; it turns out to be his middle name. Reddit / psotman

Story 10: While examining an old photo album, my mother mentioned a party she had planned for her coworkers over 25 years prior. I assisted her there, putting up the tables, etc., and she said it was good of me. I assumed she was making a joke because I don’t remember anything about that party.

After that, she showed me the photos, and I was there! I was around 19 or 20 years old; it’s not like I was a child. What more did my brain eliminate, I wonder? Reddit © sonia72quebec

Tale 11:

I had just completed my purchase inside the gas station. A muscular man in a T-shirt bearing a logo from a meat company approached me as I was leaving and asked if I would be interested in buying frozen meats in bulk. Other than having roughly $500 available on my credit card, I was completely broke.

Even though I didn’t want to buy anything, I said “yes” out loud as though it were my last breath. I returned home a few minutes later with a month’s supply of vacuum-sealed chicken and fish. Who said “yes”—I’m not sure—wasn’t me. Source: Reddit/NeuralBreakDancing
