Woman’s Blind Date Takes a Turn After Unexpected Restaurant Bill

Miss Zhang brought 23 family members around for supper to see how wonderful her blind date would be. The goal of this bizarre plan was to see how willing Mr. Lui would be to help her and her family.

Lui would help her and her family. But Zhang was surprised that things didn’t turn out the way he thought they would.

The occurrence took place in a restaurant in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang. Zhang believed it would be a good idea to tell Lui to show that he could be a good provider by being courteous and paying for lunch for her big family.

Lui was astonished to find out that he would be eating with 23 other people. He had planned to impress Zhang by taking her out to a lovely meal.

Mr. Lui probably didn’t want to pay for the group’s expenses because they were more than he thought they would be. Things became worse as lunch went on, and the bill went up to an amazing 20,000 yuan (approximately $3,100).

Mr. Lui chose to leave the restaurant instead of paying the huge bill, so Zhang and her family had to cover it.

There was more to the story than that. Zhang decided to sue Mr. Lui because she thought he was partly to responsible for the debt and was unhappy with how the date went.

The court’s conclusion that Mr. Lui should only pay 1,400 yuan, which is a minor part of the total cost, proved that Zhang was mostly to blame for the bill.

This episode shows how dangerous it is to put someone through such a tough and obvious test of character. Zhang may have meant to make sure Lui was kind and could take care of her family, but the way she handled it was perceived as excessively harsh and not needed.

The end result is a great reminder that it’s important to be honest and have realistic expectations at the start of any relationship. Often, being honest and straightforward is a better way to judge someone’s character than using complicated procedures.
