Warning: The Hidden Fire Risk of Spiral Bulbs You Need to Know About

The idea of a fire starting in my home is one of my worst fears.

I therefore make sure my smoke alarms have functional batteries and unplug my phone charger before bed.

However, this caution from Kentucky’s Jason Whitaker? I had never heard of it.

Jason Whitaker almost witnessed the burning of his house in the fall of 2019.

He had been smelling something odd for a time, and he thought it might be an electrical fire. It took him some time to grasp the impending catastrophe, but Fox10 reports that he looked around his home for the source.

A crucial caution
He eventually discovered the cause: a spiral lightbulb. Jason soon understood that he was on the verge of catastrophe and felt compelled to notify his friends and family on Facebook.

“Your house will be destroyed by these light bulbs,” he wrote at the start of his message.

So what was the specific reason of the smoldering lightbulb?

When Jason posted pictures of the lightbulb, he disclosed that it had been in a lamp for four to five years and was now covered in ladybugs. In between the bulb’s spirals, the ladybugs had apparently established themselves.

Light and warmth are two things that insects are drawn to by nature, and a spiral bulb’s interior provides both.

You can see how near ignition it was. I replaced all of the lightbulbs. Kindly verify yours.

Jason was apparently not alone in having a similar experience.

Verify your lightbulbs.
“We recently experienced this. The bulbs were there when we moved to a new home. One user noted, “I’ve replaced them now.”

Given that Jason’s post has received over 430,000 shares to date, it can be considered viral. Nonetheless, a lot of individuals are still ignorant of the possible fire hazard these bulbs present.

Naturally, causing needless anxiety is not the aim, and I don’t believe Jason intended to do so either.

But it’s absolutely worth looking into. Quickly check your house to see if any of these bulbs are in there. Examine the other lights you have while you’re at it. It could save lives, yet it doesn’t take long!

Alright, everybody, just a little reminder A house fire was one of the tragedies I had experienced. Something like that kept coming to mind.

Keep yourself safe, keep an eye out for these hidden hazards in your house, and spread the word about this post!
