Doctor Horrified When Newborn Nerd Baby Comes out Holding his Mother Contraceptive Device

When a little baby was born, it left a doctor shocked when it was discovered that he held something in his hand, which, to the doctor, was very surprising and upon a sharing of the baby in this situation, it quickly became viral.

The strange arrival took place in northern Vietnam, at the Hai Phong International Hospital where a lady delivered a healthy baby boy- yet she had been fitted with an intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) two years back as contraception.

Surprisingly, when the baby was born, it held the IUD–a scene which has gone viral in the internet through a photo. The mother opted to identify herself as anonymous, although the picture was posted by an obstetrician Dr. Tran Viet Phuong who also conducted the birth.

I saw that he held the device after the delivery, Dr. Phuong said. I found it a curious enough appearance, so I photographed it. I had not even thought it would get any attention in the first place.”

The Baby Miracle that Beat the Odds

show that the 34-year-old mother already had two children and she thought the IUD would stop any other pregnancy. It is however suspected that the contraceptive device rotated to a different position making it ineffective and enabling her to conceive again.

This baby, which weighed 3.2 kilograms (approximately 7 pounds) was born in excellent health and complication-free.

Online hilarity and awe have followed the photos of the baby holding the IUD.

On Facebook, one wrote that this baby should be born.

Another said, “this happened to a friend of mine- her baby came out holding her IUD.”

Some people were relieved that the birth control mechanism did not cause any risks to the unborn baby during pregnancy.

Knowing Not the First Time
Remarkably, this is not the first instance when a baby was born with a contraceptive device in its hand.

In the U.S., a mother named Lucy Hellein took a viral shot in 2017 of her newborn, Dexter, clutching something appearing to be a Mirena implant following her C-section. She titled it by writing, Mirena fail!

But the photo was later found out to have been staged-the equipment being taken out of the body during the operation and posed around the baby during the photo.

A Reminder Contraception
Different types of IUDs fit into the shape of a T with two major kinds being inserted into the uterus:

Copper IUDs, these are a physical barrier to fertilization.

Hormonal IUDs, the plastic device is releasing hormones to inhibit pregnancy.

IUDs are near perfect, but nothing is fool proof- this baby is a testament to that fact.
