At this year NATO summit in the Netherlands, President Donald Trump may have received the red carpet treatment, but it is the face-time that Queen Maxima had on camera, which is leaving everyone to talk.
The clip which is now viral
The visit by Donald Trump to the Netherlands on the annual NATO summit has been reported positively. Trump also spoke thoughtfully on Wednesday at a news conference when he said he was encouraged when other NATO nations took the initiative to fortify their own national budgets of defense.
Earlier, at a press conference, it was Trump, who spent the night at a royal palace in the Netherlands after flying in from Washington.
And so despite Trump smiling broadly, with the trademark thumbs up position as he gets his photo taken with king Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, it is the Queen who just had to make fun of him. and whether it was savage, hilarious, or straight out disrespectful depends on who you ask.
That house is great, it was…”
The three are shown in the viral video standing together in the Huis ten Bosch Palace. Trump chats with the King in banter:
That is what we want to see, Trump said.
And responded the King: Well slept you!
That was good, the home is…” Trump started before going round to the cameras and smiling.
Later he added, waving to his guests, a delightful, “Thank you!”
It was immediately after Trump completed the sentence that Queen Maxima, who has been silent throughout, would appear to imitate the movement of his mouth.
A royal burn?
And finally, in what can best be described as a royal burn situation by many on the internet, she looked directly into the camera a la The Office and gave a sort of tongue in cheek, Did you get that?
The scenario became an online sensation of responses.
One wrote on Twitter: “Queen Maxima imitating mouth gestures of Trump was really uncomfortable to watching.”
Another joked, tacking on a dig at the victim: “Poor lady has just bought herself a whole Truth Social post.”
third user: WAIT A MINUTE WAS QUEEN MAXIMA OF THE NETHERLANDS IMPERSONATING DONALD TRUMP?

Another admired her saying:
I am no fan of our stiff monarchy but Queen Maxima rocks! Handle him as a child.
Not all found it funny though.
And one furious commenter said, ”What an unprofessional and b*tchy act, by a woman of her age and standing more than being a royal.”
I hope that this finds its way back to President Trump (and it will because everything does) and he does something about it! What an ahole thing to do to the world before the world.”
Body language expert has a say
As the internet argued whether the director was being intentional there or simply suffering an embarrassing case of poor timing, body language expert Darren Stanton circled the wash-up with his personal opinion:
The image of King Trump and Queen Maxima reveals the Queen to be in the dominant position compared to the other Dutch royal, according to Stanton speaking to Unilad.
We can observe that even the King was looking forward with the same psyche placation, covering his abdomAs stated, Trump was in the Netherlands high-stakes NATO meetings and even did his victory lap with the brokering of a cease fire between Israel and Iran after over 10 days of airstrikes. He is said to have liaised with the VP J.D. Vance, the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff through Qatar mediators.
All that, however, could not prevent Maxima and her distant shade stealing the limelight.
Was this a jocular thrust, a light diplomatic false step, or was it a queen being a queen? You think?en, but the Queen is focused on Trump, and facing him and matching his movements in some way, as if she were trying to make herself the dominant person too.”

Trump as stated was in the Netherlands engaging in serious high stakes NATO talks and even cavorted a victory lap over brokering a ceasefire between Iran and Israel who had been bombing each other since the past 10 days. Silceanu allegedly liaised with VP J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff through Qatar mediators.
That was not enough to prevent the focus being on Maxima and her low-key coloring though.
Was it a sly play at wit, a piece of diplomacy, or a queen losing her temper? Your opinion?
