For some people, having a dog near a young, defenseless infant can be worrying, particularly when it comes to specific dog breeds that have a reputation for being “aggressive.”
Given that pit bulls are frequently perceived as erratic and occasionally dangerous, they are most likely at the top of this group.
One California mother, however, attributes her and her child’s survival to her beloved pit bull.

Mom Latana Chai reports that her pet dog, Sasha, and newborn Masailah were born just a few days apart and spend every moment together, including sharing a bed and even taking a bath.
But when their neighbor’s house caught fire, their relationship was about to get even closer.
Latana saw Sasha acting very oddly at around midnight on a Saturday night.
When I heard a big bang, I thought, ‘What’s going on?’ Sasha was crying and was jumping at the door, and I could hear it. Latana stated, “She runs in and starts barking as soon as I got to the door,” according to Kare 11.
discovered the pit bull in the infant’s room.
Running to Masailah’s room, she opened the door to let Sasha in. A fire that was advancing from their neighbor’s house to theirs was then visible to her, as black smoke was flowing from the ceiling.
When Mom Latana hurried to her infant’s room, she discovered Sasha snatching Masailah by the diaper and dragging her to safety.
Sasha’s early warning barks are credited by the family for keeping them safe.
