Pilot’s Final Words in Air India Crash Released in Official Report

The Air India crash has been so devastating to watch. The more time that passes, the more details are emerging.

The last words of the pilot have now been released to the press.

Goodness gracious, what a horrible tragedy that happened in India yesterday, when the plane of Air India with 242 passengers on board crashed a few minutes after the start.

The aircraft was flying in India, near Ahmedabad Airport.

It occurred about 30 seconds after takeoff. The contact with the aircraft was also lost during takeoff. Air India quickly confirmed that involved was their Boeing 787-8 with flight number AI171.

Moreover, the airline also broke the tragic news that only one person survived.

The plane was on a short flight after take-off when it crashed. It is with regret to inform you that amongst the 242 people on board, 241 have been confirmed dead. The only survivor is under treatment in a hospital. The passengers were composed of 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese nationals and 1 Canadian national.

A 40-year-old Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a British citizen, is the lone survivor. besides the several hundreds on board, several people on the ground have also been reported dead.

Reports in India indicate that the plane crashed in a hostel where medical students were staying.

The first pilot was Sumeet Sabharwal and beside him was his second pilot, Clive Kundar.

The pair sounded the alarm in relation to the horrific crash, and the heartbreaking news has now been released.

The last chilling mayday message that Sabharwal sent to ATC was, “Mayday… no thrust, losing power, cannot lift.”

The Mirror also reports that Sabharwal had clocked 8,200 flying hours, and the co-pilot Clive Kundar had 1,100 hours of experience.

It is the inaugural crash involving a Boeing 787 and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
