Since the last Keith Urban residency show was already one to be remembered, Nicole Kidman’s involvement made it even more extraordinary. The night before the grand finale, Nicole appeared in the crowd and put everyone at the competition in an excited mood.
While Keith sang and danced, he took a moment to see Nicole coming out with a good laugh on her face. People cheered wildly and Keith could not stop himself from smiling. With a smile on his face, he looked into the microphone and punched, “Hello, may I know your name?” What country are you from?”
That caused her to playfully correct, saying, “Nicole Urban,” and the audience immediately loved her.
JUMPING IN TO RESCUE THE JACKET
Nicole didn’t join the group just to get attention; she had a real purpose for being there. She said: “Can I get your jacket, the black one you put down earlier?” It was left lying on the floor by you.
As they crossed the stage, they tried to find their jacket which had vanished after being grabbed by someone. Keith added fuel to the jokes by telling everyone his guitar tech had stolen the guitar. After their search, Keith put Nicole’s jacket over her and the way they reacted seemed just like a heartwarming movie moment—simple, unplanned and touching.
“She mentioned the jacket to me by asking, ‘Be careful with that,’ and I just replied, ‘I can’t lose it.’” Keith laughed and gave his fans a peek at the experience.
After closing one option, I am able to open another.
Keith’s Las Vegas shows for Adele’s canceled concerts concluded on Sunday night in an emotional way. The sold-out shows renewed the lively feeling of country music which had been missing during the pandemic shutdown.
One night, someone called in a rush and asked if we could do these additional shows, Keith told PEOPLE TV. “But everything was perfect just how it happened.”
After Vegas, Keith is eager to resume his tour of the U.S. this summer. He expressed in a recent press release that he’s like a caged animal wanting to break loose to perform for his fans outside his home town.
THIS IS A LOVE THAT SHINES
To this day, Nicole is Keith’s biggest source of support and he feels the same way about her. Sunday Rose (13) and Faith Margaret (11) are their daughters and the couple’s relationship is as united off the stage as it is on. During a touching moment on CBS Mornings, Nicole said about Keith, “Meeting him late in life has always been the greatest thing for me.”
Their love is visible through the ordinary gestures they do for each other. This year, Keith had to stay up all night, departing from a Las Vegas performance to arrive at the Oscars red carpet in time for Nicole’s nomination for Best Actress for Being the Ricardos.
Nicole smiled on the red carpet as she said, “He took a flight and arrived at 1 a.m. just to be with me.” “That’s why we pull together as a family.”
With Nicole beside him, Keith looks forward to new episodes, because their love is always the main attraction.
