After terrible storms hit Texas over the Fourth of July weekend, Miranda Lambert is doing a lot to help. Because of extremely torrential rain, the Guadalupe River climbed an astonishing 26 feet in just a few minutes. The disaster killed 132 people, including 27 youngsters and counselors from Camp Mystic, a summer camp that many Texans loved.
As rescue efforts continue and communities slowly start to heal, there have been stories of bravery and sacrifice that have come out of the disaster. Scott Ruskan, a Coast Guard rescue swimmer, is credited with saving 165 lives by risking his own safety to relocate those who were stuck to higher ground.

Matthew Crowder, a local hero, acted quickly to help a family get out of their home just before the floodwaters surged and took it away. Jeff Ramsey didn’t make it out himself, but he did give his family the warning they needed to stay alive. People all around the state have been moved by these personal experiences, and now they are asking for support and action.
Miranda Lambert gave one of the most honest answers. Lambert told SiriusXM in an honest interview on July 14 that she is putting together a charity event to help families who lost their homes in the storms. She was clearly worried and talked about how powerless she felt to see her home state suffer. She said, “I feel helpless.” “But Texans look out for each other.” People who heard her speak were touched by her comments because they showed the Texas spirit of friendship and dedication.
Other others are also putting in a lot of effort. Robert Earl Keen and George Strait, two other huge stars in country music, have also said they will play benefit shows. Josh Weathers, a rising star, has already raised approximately $430,000 through an internet campaign. Chris and Morgane Stapleton made headlines when they gave $1 million to help with relief efforts. The country music community’s outpouring of solidarity is helping to make people more aware of how big the tragedy is and how badly help is needed right now.
In addition to the event, Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation is also aiding with the relief efforts. People know the group for assisting animals, and it has worked with Kerrville Pets Alive to rescue animals that were left homeless by the floods and find them new homes. They are making sure that the area’s four-legged victims are not forgotten in the wake of all the tragedy. They are providing emergency transportation and temporary foster homes.
More information regarding the benefit event, such as where it will be held, how to acquire tickets, and who will be performing, will be available soon. It’s evident that the event will be more than simply a show; it will be a place for people to come together to heal, have hope, and express their support. Fans are being asked to help in any manner they can, such as giving money to reliable relief groups, taking in dogs that have been evacuated, volunteering in their own communities, or just spreading the word.
Miranda Lambert and the other Texans are doing what they do best: helping each other, keeping strong, and channeling their pain into action. Things will get better, but it will take a while. But people are already feeling positive because of voices like hers.
