Rebecca continued to think about what had transpired later that evening while she was making dinner.
Their neighbor, Mrs. Carpenter, has always taught others “life lessons,” but this time she went too far. Although Rebecca was aware that she couldn’t ignore it, she also understood that dealing with Mrs. Carpenter directly wouldn’t be effective.
Rebecca had an idea that evening. She made a courteous grin when she visited Mrs. Carpenter’s home the following morning. Rebecca gave her a warm greeting when Mrs. Carpenter opened the door.
“Why are you here, Rebecca?” Mrs. Carpenter questioned, looking taken aback.
Rebecca added, “I just wanted to thank you personally,” in a kind voice.
“I’m grateful.” Mrs. Carpenter, obviously perplexed, inquired.

Mrs. Carpenter’s pride glowed. I’m very happy you understand, I must say. I believe it is crucial that children learn these things, even though some parents may be upset.
“Yes,” Rebecca replied, nodding. “I mentioned it all.”

After removing the phone, Rebecca introduced him to Mrs. Carpenter. In the local Facebook group, I made a post about it. People are foolish in their comments.

The smile on Mrs. Carpenter’s face vanished. “How did they describe me?” With a trembling voice, she asked.
Rebecca kept scrolling through the comments. “Well, this is good.” This cannot be tolerated! We have to keep these individuals away from our kids.
In an attempt to halt the barrage of remarks, Mrs. Carpenter, suddenly pale, waved Rebecca on the phone. “Please take those posts down,” she pleaded. “I never imagined—”
Rebecca’s head shook. “Don’t be concerned.” Just a lesson in life, isn’t it? We can learn things difficult at times.
She smiled as Rebecca turned to go, adding, “The next time you want to teach someone’s child a lesson, make sure the mother doesn’t bite back.”
Lucy came home later and held the envelope. “Mum! My money came from Mrs. Carpenter! She claimed that the payment’s date had been misunderstood.
Rebecca, pleased with the way things turned out, gave her daughter a hug. “I’m happy that she was at fault.”
The envelope was given to Lucy’s mother. “It belongs to you because you’ve already paid me,” she smiled.
Lucy came running up, and Rebecca grinned at herself. Her activities may be referred to be pheta by some, but she felt they were worthwhile. Lucy’s excitement for the art class provided the proof she needed to choose wisely. It’s a position for your youngster to understand their value, and sometimes the finest lessons aren’t pleasant.
