Elon Musk and Trump’s Surprising Request to Federal Employees—What’s at Stake?”

Every federal employee can expect to receive an email in their inbox that could result in resignation if they ignore it as President Donald Trump and Elon Musk attempt to streamline the US Government.

Without wasting any time, Trump and Musk have quickly reformed the federal administration.

Together with Vivek Ramaswamy, the CEO of Tesla is leading a group of people at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and has been officially classified as a “special government employee.”

According to Trump, DOGE’s primary objective is to “dismantle Government Bureaucracy, remove unnecessary rules, cut needless expenditures, and reform Federal Agencies.”

On Saturday, February 22, Musk also sent an email ultimatum to federal employees.

Elon Musk sent out a general email to all federal employees asking them to provide him with an update on their activity over the past week .

The guidelines in the email are straightforward: officials are required to explain their behavior over the previous seven days. If they don’t do so by Monday at 11:59 p.m. ET, they will essentially be resigned.

Musk wrote on Twitter yesterday: “As per President @realDonaldTrump’s orders, all federal employees will shortly receive an email asking them to comprehend what they completed last week.

“Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.”

Then, what was in the email? However, one person who received the message posted a picture of it online.

“Please reply to this email by providing a summary of your accomplishments from the previous week in about five bullet points, with a copy to your

“Manager,” it said. Please do not send any links, attachments, or classified content.

“Deadline is this Monday at 11:59pmEST.”

Following Trump’s address at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the BBC reported that emails were sent to people’s inboxes with the subject line, “What did you do last week?”

Meanwhile, emails CNN was able to obtain also showed that they were deemed incredibly essential; Musk’s statement that he was resigning because he didn’t receive a response was also omitted.

Particularly in view of the other major workplace reforms that Trump has enforced, this decision has not been favorably received.

According to FBI Director Kash Patel, “The FBI, through the Office of the Director, is in charge of all of our review processes, and will conduct reviews in accordance with FBI procedures,” cautioning employees against making snap decisions (via Sky News). If and when additional information is required, we will coordinate the responses.

“For now, please pause any responses.”

Federal court officials issued the following statement, requesting that no action be made: “Please be advised that this email did not originate from the judiciary or the administrative office and we suggest that no action be taken.”

Being “cruel and disrespectful” to federal workers According to AFGE President Everett Kelley, the organization will “challenge any unlawful terminations of our members and federal employees across the country.”
