Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, together with their young children, are adjusting to “a different, new world for us” as a result of the diagnosis of type 1 diabetes in their son Miles, who is six years old by this point.
After some of her fans spotted that the small kid was wearing a glucose monitor on the back of his arm in a shot of him holding up signs at the Paris Olympics, Teigen broke the news to her followers on Wednesday announcing that her son had been diagnosed with diabetes.
The photo that I posted a few days ago, which had Luna, Miles, and I congratulating Simone (Biles) and team USA, has garnered a lot of attention from a number of you who have commented on it. Teigen, who is 38 years old, stated in the post that as Miles was holding his arm up, “so many of you reached out to say the most beautiful and incredible words I have ever witnessed on this platform.”
You took note of his type-1 diabetes monitor and showed him an incredible amount of love and support in every way that was possibly possible. Already, the generosity of this community has left me speechless, and I continue to be so inspired by it.

A flood of love and affection from her fans and followers was prompted by her message, and she was moved by the responses she received.
Our son Miles was hospitalized a few weeks ago with a severe case of shigella, which is an intestinal illness that can be caused by germs that are present in food or water. Because they had attended the same camp, a significant number of his buddies were also afflicted with the illness. As the saying goes, “Well, it happens!” It was written by Teigen in her post.
It was at that moment that the medical professionals discovered anything peculiar in his blood results.
The doctors, however, were aware that there was something else about his blood tests that was not normal. Since that time, I’ve gained the knowledge that this is the reason why so many young children wind up being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes after going to the hospital for something else related to their condition.
Following additional testing, we acquired the knowledge that he is currently in the “honeymoon period” of a lifetime of T1. On the previous evening, we administered his initial dose of insulin, and now we are here. This is a very new and completely different world for us, and we are certainly learning a great deal on the fly.
At the end of her article, she expressed her gratitude to everyone for their sincere words of support.
“I am writing this post to express my gratitude for the kindness you have shown me,” she wrote. Knowing that he is not the only one going through what he is, and that there are a lot of other people going through the same thing, is a huge assistance to Miles.
In the year 2018, Teigen and Legend became parents to Miles.
