Authorities have found a major risk that might cause overheating, a fire, injuries, or even death. This caused an immediate “do not use” recall of more than 60,000 air fryers that had been supplied to Ireland.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has cautioned customers to be careful with some Tower-brand air fryers.
The CCPC states that the recall is because of a big mistake in the factory that might make the devices dangerously hot while they are being used.
The problem could cause the device to catch fire, which would be very bad for the people who use it and their family.
There haven’t been any fires or injuries in Ireland yet, but people are taking the warning seriously. This is especially significant because there have been similar instances with the identical models in the UK.

The air fryers mentioned above were created between 2020 and 2024 and were available on the Tower Housewares website and in a number of large stores, including Amazon, Argos, Tesco Ireland, DID Electrical, Dealz, and Lidl.
Customers should inspect their air fryer right away to see if it is one of the ones that was compromised.
The CCPC suggests to look at the rating label on the bottom of the appliance to see if it is affected.
The letter “T” will be the first letter in every model number that is affected.
The official Tower Housewares recall list provides the exact names of the five models that are affected, but purchasers should check it out.
If the model number on your air fryer is on the recall list, stop using it right once and disconnect it from the wall.

Gráinne Griffin, the CCPC’s Director of Communications, said something quite serious about the issue:
Five kinds of Tower air fryers are being recalled because a problem with how they were constructed could make them too hot, which could be lethal.
About 60,000 of the concerned devices have been sold in Ireland, thus it’s vitally important for Tower air fryer owners to verify their model.
If their model is harmed, it is not safe to use.
The CCPC made it plain how bad the situation was and emphasized that the units that were affected were unsafe no matter what, even if they appeared like they were working normally.
Customers should not try to fix the product or keep using it, as this is strongly discouraged.
