People are talking about how bad the circumstances are at work on Reddit. People are talking about a scary story of a person who worked at Goodwill that someone told. Other stories regarding workers at Hobby Lobby and Chick-fil-A are not as bad. The item originally appeared online at the end of August 2020, and since then it has been more and more popular. It already has more than 81,000 upvotes on the social-sharing site.
You might change your mind about shopping at the secondhand store chain after reading the post from the Goodwill employee. If you’re worried about acquiring COVID-19, you should stay away from the racks. If you’re worried about germs, you should stay away from the store in general. Why? The worker says that no one cleans anything at their store!

The worker responded, “We don’t clean anything we sell at Goodwill, and some of the stuff we get is really gross and touches everything else.” “So the next time you buy something from Goodwill, be sure to wash it well.”
Another former employee agreed with him by saying, “I used to work at Goodwill, and you are 200% right.”
A worried consumer said, “Even before COVID, I always felt so gross after leaving there that I would wash my hands right away.”
But this news didn’t surprise everyone.
“I’m sorry to ruin everyone’s day, but the last time I went to a thrift store, I found some really nice yoga pants…” “But the crotch was crusty,” one person said.
Someone another said, “Oh my god!” You made me recall! Why? I thought everything was clean before. I tried on pants once. I didn’t get it till later that the owner wasn’t wearing underwear. It was nasty. “They either wore the pants for a week straight or they really need to see a doctor.”
Someone else gave their idea about how to buy things from Goodwill.
“Goodwill?” I always wash new clothes before I wear them. People and warehouses are cruel. Goodwill is merely typical in this instance.
Another person said to go even further.
“Cleaning it twice makes it look nice.” You have to do it anyhow most of the time, because you’ll see when you do it that the water from the first load…
Someone claimed they never wear clothes that haven’t been washed first.
“Yes, you should wash any new clothes before you wear them.” No matter where you got it, whether it was from Goodwill or the most expensive clothing store in the world, simply wash it since it has probably touched something or someone bad.
Another volunteer said they did a lot of cleaning, even though they worked at Goodwill.
“I know someone who worked for a year at a Goodwill. She said that she had never seen so much cleaning done before. Thanks to the older women who also worked there for free. “Everything was always clean.”
What do you think about this accusation against Goodwill? Do you suppose Goodwill washes the clothes that people give them?
