In the year 2018, her family was pleased to welcome a newborn girl who was given the name Angelica. Both her heart-shaped port wine stain and her stunning facial characteristics contributed to the fact that she was an even more remarkable individual. It is unfortunate that not everyone saw the beauty of her distinctive mark.
There have been some people who have the right to comment on this girl’s appearance, but Angelica’s mother claims that her family has accepted her in her current state and even celebrates the fact that she has a birthmark.
Somebody asked me if her face had been pressed onto a skillet, and it was the most offensive comment I’ve ever received on the internet. “You could say that her face appeared to have been grilled,” Marianna Bowering, Angelica’s mother, said in an interview with the Mirror.
A second statement made by Marianna was that there were instances in which her daughter was referred to as “hideous” and a “defect.” The family was determined to overcome the negative consequences of the cruel remarks and comments that were directed toward them, despite the fact that this had a detrimental impact on them and just added to the number of challenges they were already facing.
Angelica’s family instilled in her the value of accepting herself in her current state, regardless of what other people may have thought.
Marianna made the decision to paint her daughter’s face with something that looked like a birthmark, like to the one that Angelica had. She did this in the hopes of making her daughter feel better.
In an interview with The Epoch Times, the mother was quoted as saying, “I got the idea from vascular birthmark awareness day, where they encourage people to paint a heart on the cheeks.” At first, I only applied the heart-shaped cosmetics on my face, but then I had the idea to go all out and apply Angelica’s port wine stain at the same time.
Marianna was crushed even further whenever someone tried to ‘comfort’ her by telling her that her daughter’s mark would eventually disappear or that she could conceal it with makeup once she grew older. She couldn’t help but wonder if Angelica would be forced to hide her natural beauty rather than embracing it rather than embracing it.
It served as a timely reminder that many civilizations have established certain standards for the appearance that a person must possess in order to be accepted by the group and to blend in with the society.
The advice that Angelica’s family has given her throughout her life is that she should love herself for who she is. When Marianna wanted her daughter’s wine port stain to be as bright as possible, she would sometimes cover it with glitter from time to time.
In reference to the fact that children who have these kinds of birthmarks are more likely to have other health concerns, Marianna said, “Thankfully, we’ve done tests and Angelica is totally healthy.” in reference to her daughter. Due to the fact that glaucoma can be a cause for concern, it is imperative that we go in for routine checkups, particularly for her eyes.
Angelica is fortunate to have been taught how to love herself and accept her birthmark, and we are grateful for this.
