Pregnancy may be a very hard time for a woman.
Women have to deal with the physical affects of having a baby in their stomachs, and they are continually worried that something will happen to the baby.
But most of the time, it works out great. When you get to keep your healthy, newborn child, the one who worries and scares you gets traded for relief.
But Jennie Wilklow never got to take use of that chance to relax; in fact, it was the opposite.
It was very usual for Jennie to be pregnant. They were happy to wait for the kids, and all the exams showed that the infant looked fine.
But things became worse when Jennie had to have an emergency cesarean surgery at week 34. The surgery and the birth went well, but it quickly became evident that something was wrong with Jennie’s child.
“I heard her scream when they took her out, and they said, ‘She is so beautiful.'” I smiled and relaxed, Jennie, because these are the things that every mother loves to hear.
But the attitude in the room had altered just a few seconds later. The baby’s face changed.
A lot of nurses and physicians soon panicked when they saw what was happening to the freshly saved daughter.
“They did everything they could to help her, but her skin turned to stone in a matter of seconds.” Once the skin hardened, it started to break. It left cuts all over her body. I saw their worried faces behind the hills and asked whether everything was okay.
The doctor told Jennie that they had things under control, and then they gave her medicine that made her asleep.
When Jennie woke up a few hours later, a doctor told her what was wrong with her. Anna, her baby girl, has an illness called harlequin ichthyosis.
She looked at her spouse when she realized how bad it was.
“I was scared by my husband’s silence; he only got upset after the doctor left. He kept saying, “This is bad.”
The sickness The skin grows around 14 times faster than normal because of a genetic condition called harlequin ichthyosis. It turns the whole body red, even the mouth, nose, ears, and eyes.
Most babies with harlequin ichthyosis die within a few days after being born.
But those who live can still hope for a normal existence. But sadly, they are also more prone to suffer issues and delays in their growth, especially when it comes to their motor skills.
“I spent the next two days learning more about her health. I understood that this would have a big effect on her quality of life. I let myself think these things because I could only do so when I was at my most confused and alone. “I thought it might be better if she died right then and there,” Jennie says.
But Jennie had a tough little daughter who was powerful.
Doctors and Anna’s relatives helped her stay alive.
The parents finally brought Anna home and did their best to take care of her.
Jennie tells about the fight in the first several days:
“I put petroleum jelly on her every two hours and bathed her for a few hours each day.” I had been thinking about what my beloved daughter would wear for a long time. Even though it didn’t seem like much, it was what I battled for the most.
Anna gave her mother a whole new way to see life, even when it was hard:
“I began to understand that she would keep developing if I imposed restrictions on what she could achieve. That’s why I chose to set the bar high. I wanted her to reach her goals, and I had the same ones.
Since then, Jennie has started an Instagram account to share the good and bad times in her and her daughter’s lives.
“I now know that I got her because I love my daughter so much.” “Anna was made for me, and I was made for her. We’ll show the world how wonderful it can be when we’re together.
