Trump declared during his last campaign for president that if he won, he would have “no problem” publicizing papers regarding Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.
Attorney General Pamela Bondi released what she called the “first phase” of the declassified Epstein files in February 2025. The president had pledged to do this. But in July, Trump’s Department of Justice (DOJ) stated there was “no basis” for releasing new material.
The DOJ also indicated in a statement at the beginning of this month that it had not found “any incriminating client list.”
When Trump opted not to release more papers, several people assumed he was “hiding” information about Epstein. When a reporter asked the president about it, he responded, “Are people still talking about this guy?” This only made things worse. This jerk? It’s hard to believe that.
Trump has now announced he will release grand jury documents about Epstein, but when asked about images taken in 1993, he sought to change the subject again with the disgraced tycoon.
CNN’s KFile has obtained information that shows for the first time that Epstein was at Trump’s second wedding, which took place in 1993 when he married Marla Maples.
It looks like Trump and Epstein were talking and laughing together during a Victoria’s Secret fashion presentation in New York in 1999.
Dafydd Jones, the photographer for Trump’s wedding in 1993, told CNN that he “must have recognized” Epstein at the wedding because he had already taken images of him and Trump at the Harley Davidson Cafe in New York in October 1993.
He said in a new interview, “I wish I had taken more pictures of him with Trump.” “I was in charge of shooting pictures of the Trump wedding, so I stood with the press and took pictures of him. The picture you have comes from the contact sheet. The downsides are no longer there.
Trump blasted CNN “fake news” and said, “You have to be kidding me” when asked about the wedding pictures.
In a longer statement, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said, “These are just out-of-context frame grabs of harmless videos and pictures of events that a lot of people went to to make something bad seem bad.”
