Donald Trump Sparks Outrage with ‘Psychotic’ G7 Exit Claim

Donald Trump is reeling under a massive backlash over a hasty departure the G7 summit in Canada a day before its scheduled end, and the subsequent issuance of what a critic had described as a psychopathic explanation of his action.

G7, comprising leaders of US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan has held an annual summit in the last 50 years to synchronize actions on the international economic policy and the global security policy. When the US president broke his visit short on Monday (June 16), people noticed it.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reacted with more or less of an explanation that Trump would leave following dinner with other heads of state because of rising tensions in the Middle East.

So much has been done and due to what is happening in the Middle East, President Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner, she wrote on X.

Trump, in his turn, stated that he had already notified Canada Prime Minister and host of the summit, Mark Carney, and that the other leaders would get the point.

Trump said, according to the Guardian, to a group standing in front of him at dinner Friday night: I wish that I could be here tomorrow, but they know, this is big stuff.

His quick exit involved missing out in the G7 declaration that suggested a de-escalation of the Middle East, including a Gaza ceasefire. Trump signed the statement, but on the Truth Social, he made a much more threatening announcement warning residents of Tehran to leave the city because Israeli forces continue to bomb Iran.

Last Thursday, Israel started to attack its nuclear and military installations in Tehran. It is clear that Trump has been encouraging the flames, although the US itself has not participated in the strikes. Then there was the remark which provoked special indignation.

Trump responded to Macron in a Truth Social post denouncing his claim that Trump left due to ceasefire negotiations. French President Emmanuel Macron, who is seeking good publicity, wrongly added that I went back to D.C. to negotiate a cease fire between Israel and Iran, not to mention going back to work in general (and hard to believe that I would ever go back to work in general!). Wrong!” Trump wrote.

He does not know why I am now going to Washington, but it has certainly nothing to do with a Cease Fire. A heck of a lot bigger than that. Intentionally or unintentionally, Emmanuel never gets it right. Stay Tuned!”

The publication stirred a torrent of outrage, with critics denouncing Trump as sounding unhinged, pathetic, and petty.

The comically petulent claim that allies are unwilling to allow Putin back in the G8 prompted one person to observe, “Insulting our allies again, after complaining that they do not want to reinstate Putin to the G8.”

What could be more urgent than a cease-fire in the Middle East was questioned by many. Even Trump himself teased something big since walking away at the summit, telling reporters: Iran wants to make a deal. And the next time I walk out of here we will be acting. But I must be off here.”

His so-called deal seems to have collapsed. Later in a follow-up posting, Trump went further up the rhetorical scale.

Iran ought to have signed the deal I means they were told to sign. Shame and waste of human life, he wrote. In simple terms, a nuclear weapon cannot be possessed by IRAN. I told it myself, and told it! One and all must get out of Tehran at once!”

The critics add that Trump is making tension instead of diffusing it through his posts, and that the US might actually be doing nothing behind the scenes to assist Israel with its military action.
