Molly McGovern, the child of Massachusetts Rep. James McGovern, died during a trip to Italy.
While having dinner with her friends, the 23-year-old suffered from nausea.
After getting diagnosed with cancer shortly after her 18th birthday, Molly carried on with her life and made the most of every moment.
The last five years were the most memorable for Lisa, although she had a wonderful life, said her mother. “There were little miracles everywhere.”

The representative gave an emotional speech about his daughter, who was taken from him too soon.
“Molly radiated pure joy. Her bright smile always brought light to any room, with laughs, deep warmth, and a humor that catch you off guard in a second, he said.
She was a student at Northeastern University who studied political science and international affairs for her bachelor’s degree.
He characterized her as “hilarious, truly loyal, and just as wise as an adult,” and he said she had a unique gift.
She made everyone feel valuable, as she truly thought everyone was important. “Anyone who needed kindness and compassion was helped by her, and wherever she went, she soon had new friends.”
Her dad said Molly always kept living her life without being slowed by cancer.
She just finished a semester of studying overseas in Asutralia.
Patrick, Molly’s brother, shared that she and he would FaceTime or use the phone every single day.

He said, “Molly will always be at the heart of our family.” We are very proud of her and happy that her life inspired so many people. We love you, Molly, and we’re already missing you.
Molly died on April 23, and her funeral took place on May 3.
